About us
Founded in 2023, Leiria International School (LIS) delivers a high-quality international education through the Cambridge curriculum, from Primary to A/AS Level, fully taught in English. As an accredited Cambridge provider, LIS fosters critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills—preparing students for success in higher education and future careers, both in Portugal and around the world. The school is organized into two divisions:
Primary School
Our Primary Programme, designed for learners aged 3 to 11, encourages playfulness, curiosity, creativity, and a strong desire to experiment and explore the world around them.
At LIS, we offer the Cambridge Primary Curriculum from Reception through Form 5, starting in September 2023.

Secondary School
Our Secondary Programme at LIS is structured in three phases:
Cambridge Lower Secondary (ages 12–14): A globally recognized curriculum.
Cambridge IGCSE (ages 14–16): An internationally respected qualification, taken by students in over 140 countries.
Cambridge A/AS Levels (ages 16–18): A strong foundation for university and beyond.
